About Me:
I live in Nottingham and love cooking, travelling and gardening. There’s nothing better than settling down at the weekend to watch a movie after a good meal and a glass of wine/beer etc! My most recent obsession is doing homemade pizza.
When I can I play tennis and go to the gym as well. Sometimes at the weekends I love just having an early morning walk along the River Trent as well as we live right next to it. I also love animals and can’t wait to get at least 3 dogs!

My Work:
I work as a Neurologist. The commonest conditions a neurologist sees are migraine, Parkinson’s disease epilepsy or multiple sclerosis. My main interest is in diseases caused by the immune system that affect the nervous system in other words something goes wrong with the immune system and it starts attacking the nervous system. I currently do research in conditions such as these.

My Typical Day:
My work is variable. I sometimes do lab work and sometimes do computer work to look at data or plan more work!
I also do a monthly clinic seeing patients with a particular condition from where I get the research data. These patients love being part of research as they know that they are helping patients in future get better care.

I sometimes do lab work and sometimes do computer work to look at data or plan more work! Work is variable and sometimes I’ve had experiments last till 4am! Most experiments take a lot of planning and require expensive materials and use precious samples and there is a lot of trial and error. It is rewarding to get results though and makes it worth it!
I like to have several coffees at work and snack on biscuits to keep me going throughout the day.
