In a previous job I had to learn aviation law. In this role I just need to be aware of laws around data etc.

There are some jobs in that need law in primary care. If you work in human resources you need to know something of employment law. If you work in finances you need to be aware of financial regulations. There are specialist medical lawyers in the NHS

Medicolegal practice is common, where a Doctor works with some legal involvement, eg advising doctors facing a legal complaint in producing their reports, or working with The General Medical Council on their Fitness to Practise panels offering opinions on whether the Doctor in question was practising to a reasonable standard.
